Daffodils

We had lots of daffodils in pots around the school after our recent Marie Curie day so the gardening club collected them this week and have planted them outdoors. Hopefully these will grow every year making the grounds look great every spring. Remember to leave them to grow rather than pick them for a vase. They last for much longer in the ground. We then went to our I.C.T. suite to design posters for around the school.

Working Hard

We have started work on the planters round the school. We found lots of great things growing and plenty space for new plants. We have lots to do but are having great fun.

Lots to do!

Today the gardening club took clip boards round the school and made notes of things we need to do. We all agreed we are going to be very busy. Next Monday we plan to roll up our sleeves and tidy up the planters. We are looking forward to improving our school. Help us if you can.

Welcome
Thank you and welcome to all our new garden club members. If you didn't get a place this time don't worry. We have kept the names of everyone who filled in a form for the future. Thank you to all the adults who have offered to help. We really appreciate your time and look forward to working with you. One of the trees near the garden area is over-hanging the path. We have asked the council to check it is safe before classes use the path to the garden. We are writing to local stores and the community gardener for help. We hope they can help us to make a difference to our school grounds. All classes will be given an area of the school to tidy and improve. Look out for details of a "Big Clean" coming soon. Look out your welly boots and join in the fun!

Great News!

Gardening Club

Our school has wonderful grounds and over the years we have been very proud of our green-fingered achievements. Today the grounds are looking rather windswept and interesting and it's time to do something about it.

In the next few weeks we will be very busy.

-School staff will be making sure the garden area is safe and ready for planting.

-We will be buying seeds and bulbs.

-We will be writing to local stores to ask for help.

-Classes will be given areas of the school to tidy and improve.

-We are looking for new members for the gardening club, both upper school pupils and parents to help us each week.

Look out and listen for information coming soon.

Anyone with good ideas about the garden should speak to their teacher who will let the gardeners know.
